Unhappy What is the explanation of this?

Homebrewed 27T, overheated in like 2 minutes. I changed out the comm to the only one I had off who knows what motor, when the winds were still fine and in 3 minutes my motor was gone. Did I miss a wind?

After comm change:

Its probably because you havent got bearings which is needed in a high rpm motor to help with the friction heat up.

it looks like it overheated and shorted the one leg. is this just in a standard can? something like this needs to be running in a vented ball bearing can. in my experience in the past anyway. if you get too high of rpm in the stock can one of 2 things happen. overheating, or the bushings seize on the shaft and then spin in the can. look at getting some ball bearing cans, or egr cans, or something of that sorts. especially with low turns and liths.

The can is vented and bb, but the rest is evo hardware. I know it wont stand up to much, and that is why I had swapped to the huge commutator. Thanks for the heads up guys! Ill definitely be investing in a set of ball bearings all around soon. The only ball bearings on the car are on the motor can and the driveshaft.

I decided to take a quick overview on the car, and it seems like I need to shorten my driveshaft even more, because theres some slight binding.

While the car did drive, it drove amazing. Perfect 4wd drifts.

looking at the endbell that doesnt look like bb's in there

also with a proper bb can you will get decent brushes and brush set-up alot better than the stock ones your running

The can may be ball bearing equipped but the endbell certainly isn't. In the last shot you can see the bushing turned in its holder.

That is one huge comm. Should do the trick.
